Grace Filled Cottage

Sometimes the sweetest ideas begin with something small and unexpected. For me, Gooseberry Hollow began with a porch goose named Hazel.

I have become a little obsessed with dressing Hazel in her fun outfits. She has clothes for different seasons, holidays, and everyday occasions, and seeing her dressed up on the porch always makes me smile. There is something so cheerful and nostalgic about a porch goose. Hazel adds a little personality to our home and has brought me more joy than I ever expected.

My love for Hazel became even more meaningful when I sent my granddaughter a porch goose of her own. She lives far away, so we do not get to share all the little everyday moments that I wish we could. Now, even with the distance between us, we can dress our geese for holidays and special occasions together.

I love imagining our two geese wearing matching outfits for fall, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, and all the ordinary days in between. It gives us another special connection and a tradition that can grow with her. One day, we may look back at photographs of all the outfits our geese wore and remember the fun we shared—even while living far apart.

That special connection inspired me to create Gooseberry Hollow.

Gooseberry Hollow is a whimsical little place filled with friendly geese, cozy cottages, seasonal celebrations, and cheerful country charm. It represents the simple things that bring happiness: decorating our homes, celebrating holidays, sharing traditions, giving thoughtful gifts, and finding reasons to smile.

I have begun creating a Gooseberry Hollow collection for my Grace Filled Cottage Etsy shop. The collection includes mugs, tote bags, T-shirts, and notebooks featuring playful geese and cozy designs.

A Gooseberry Hollow mug can make an ordinary cup of coffee feel a little more cheerful. A notebook can hold grocery lists, prayers, ideas, or daily thoughts. A tote bag can come along on a trip to the farmers’ market or thrift store, and a cozy T-shirt can add a little fun to an everyday outfit.

These products are more than merchandise to me. They grew from something that brought genuine joy into my home and helped create a sweet connection between a grandmother and granddaughter.

My hope is that Gooseberry Hollow brings that same feeling to others. Perhaps it will remind someone of a porch goose they remember from childhood, inspire a new family tradition, or simply add a little happiness to an ordinary day.

I am excited to continue building the world of Gooseberry Hollow and introducing more of its charming geese, cozy cottages, and seasonal adventures. Hazel will always be the inspiration behind it all—and I have a feeling she has many more outfits and adventures ahead of her.
